As our new Chartering Manager, you will step into the front line of global trade, joining our growing Handy, Project & Parcelling segment in Copenhagen.

Our ambition is clear: by 2030, we aim to double our operated multi-purpose fleet to 60–70 vessels and establish NORDEN as a leading project carrier.

You will play a central role in turning this ambition into reality by shaping and executing the trading strategy for the fleet, increasing earnings, securing cargoes and positioning tonnage in a volatile, uncertain market.

What is in it for you
Bringing our ambition to life is powered by people, and by you. At NORDEN, we work in a culture rooted in trust and mutual responsibility, giving you the space to run your projects, grow professionally and perform at your best.

With our well-established international footprint, you will be part of a truly global environment, collaborating with colleagues across regions and markets.

Supported by experienced teams in areas such as risk management and market research, you will have access to actionable data and insights, enabling you to focus on high‑quality commercial decision‑making and long‑term customer value.

In the role, you will manage commercial exposure, including hedging where relevant, while continuously building and deepening relationships with key customers and brokers.

The tasks that await you
These are the core responsibilities that define the role:

  • Establish, maintain and expand relationships with customers, brokers and internal stakeholders.
  • Enhance earnings on owned and controlled tonnage.
  • Create direct value through short-term trading, tonnage procurement and cargo bookings.
  • Promote cross-selling of freight solutions across all NORDEN verticals, spotting opportunities beyond your core segment.
  • Partner with Operations on ongoing voyages to enhance performance and ensure clients receive highlevel service.
  • Support the development of strategic trades to enable growth globally.

As connecting with stakeholders is fundamental, business travel is expected.

Your core skills and qualifications
You build solid professional relationships and are always on the lookout for new market leads and prospects. You hold a minimum of 1 year of experience in Dry Cargo Chartering, ideally within the Handy Parcelling or Project/Breakbulk oriented segments.

In addition, you bring experience in:

  • Trading and optimising earnings on tonnage and cargoes.
  • Managing commercial exposure.
  • Key customer and broker relationships.
  • Basic understanding of hedging and FFAs.
