As Technical Superintendent on the local Gabon team, you will serve as a trusted technical anchor for our project vessels. You will be overseeing, guiding and challenging the performance of externally appointed Technical Managers who handle the day‑to‑day operational responsibility. With a keen focus on quality, compliance and reliability, you will ensure our assets stay safe and efficient while keeping consistent coordination among internal teams and external partners.

The task that awaits you
This role ensures that project vessels remain technically fit for purpose, compliant with applicable requirements, cost-controlled and aligned with project delivery needs. At the same time, it maintains clear visibility of daily operations without directly managing routine crew matters, procurement or service coordination activities.
The position therefore functions as the Owner’s technical representative, providing oversight, assurance and alignment between technical management, operations and project execution.
More specifically the job will include to:
- Provide technical oversight and performance management of third-party Technical Managers responsible for daily vessel management and maintenance execution.
- Ensure fleet compliance with statutory, flag and class requirements, including review of surveys, dry dock planning and PMS effectiveness.
- Act as the technical interface between Operations, Projects, Management and external Technical Managers to maintain vessel readiness and alignment with project requirements.
- Monitor vessel reliability, downtime, and defect trends, delivering technical performance reporting and improvement actions.
- Evaluate and question technical budgets, significant repair scopes and expenditures to support cost control and asset lifecycle planning.

Your qualifications & capabilities
We are looking for someone who holds:
- A degree or certification in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent.
- Senior technical maritime experience, including onboard service, vessel management or supervision of third-party managers.
- A demonstrated background in maintenance planning, dry docking and vessel lifecycle management.
- Experience with technical risk management, budgeting and reporting.
- Skilled at collaborating with colleagues and navigating stakeholder management.
- High-level proficiency in English communication, orally and in writing.
